What a Wonderful day this was. Our Church family really came together to make this first Bikers Sunday an overwhelming success. The Church added a new addition to our parking lot to accommodate everyone.
The day began with an excitement in the air, an expectancy of what God was going to do. The parking lot began to fill as bike after bike rolled in. Before long there were 45 motorcycles in the parking lot and three in the ‘family room’.
We had riders representing; The Blue Knights (Law Enforcement Riders Association), Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA), Grace Riders, Grace Point Riders, Cleveland’s Chapter ‘O’ & Chattanooga’s Chapter ‘V’ of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, and the Sons of God riders group. All riders were wearing their colors. We had a Record Breaking Sunday with over 200 in attendance.
Our service started off with Praise & Worship followed by special singing by: George Campbell-President of the Blue Knights & Cheryl Ricker also of the Blue Knights. Pastor Kevin gave a wonderful message that even included excerpts from “Wild Hogs”. Then we were out in the parking lot for, ‘The Blessing of the Bikes’.
Following this was a cookout provided by our church family for everyone. Tables & chairs were set up under the trees and a large grill was working magic on hamburgers & hotdogs. Dishes of potato salads, beans and desserts were plentiful. WOW, what a meal!!
A guided ride was provided after the meal.
Grace Community’s first Bikers Sunday is history now. There are plans to make this an annual event. May God receive all Glory & Honor for what is accomplished. May lives be changed as a result of our efforts.
